Young People can get advice and information on health issues in a number of ways as set out below.
All our staff will aim to be sensitive to your needs and respect your confidentiality. Even if you are under 16 you have a right to privacy. You can speak to a nurse or doctor or any other member of the Practice staff in confidence about any issue, the only exception to this is if the healthcare professional believes that in keeping something confidential you are put at risk of danger or serious harm. This is an extreme situation and if they need to report to another health care professional they will inform you first.
Routine or Emergency Appointments:
These are available with a doctor or a nurse. If you need an emergency appointment for any reason you must explain this to the receptionists. Our receptionists are highly trained and will be able to assist you in organising your appointment at a time convenient to you. The receptionist will ask you the reason for your appointment, as they do for every patient, and you can say that you would prefer not to say if you wish.
