About Greystoke Surgery

Our Practice has been established in Morpeth since 1925. We have previously moved from Kings Avenue in April 2013. We were previously located in Oldgate until 1985. We have 4 partners and a 6 salaried GPs and 2 advanced nurse practitioners. As well as the town of Morpeth, we serve the surrounding villages.

Aims

Our aim is to provide the highest standards of healthcare in the most convenient setting for our patients. To help us achieve this we offer many in–house services at Greystoke, e.g. counselling, assessment, audiometry, ultrasound. In addition, our nurses are actively involved in chronic disease management, including Asthma, Diabetes, Hypertension, Kidney Disease, Ischaemic Heart Disease, Thyroid Monitoring, Medication Reviews and also Well Person Checks.

MISSION STATEMENT

At Greystoke Surgery it is our intention to provide the patients of the Practice with comprehensive and high quality medical services, delivered in a caring and respectful manner and following up to date evidence based practice. We work collaboratively with patients, aiming to involve patients in decisions about their own care and in development of services.

We are committed to ensuring that all staff are highly trained and are supported in ongoing professional development to maintain and further enhance their skills. We believe in investing in our staff to provide a fulfilling and nurturing work environment and to build a strong and adaptable workforce.

We strive to operate fairly and transparently, treating all patients and employees with dignity and respect, and upholding the highest standards of equality and inclusivity. We take responsibility for our actions and are open and honest when things go wrong.

We proactively engage in audit and quality improvement work, and welcome constructive feedback to aid innovation and the evolution of our services. We are very fortunate to have an active Patient Participation Group (PPG) and are always looking to expand the group to reflect the demographics and needs of our patient population.

We are committed to providing high quality education and training to undergraduate students and postgraduate trainees of medical, nursing and other healthcare professions.

We work closely with other health professionals and groups including our Primary Care Network (Well Up North), Secondary Care and other Community services such as District Nurses, Health Visitors and others.
