Greystoke Surgery Non NHS Charges
The NHS does not pay for some of the services we provide. These include private sick notes, insurance forms, holiday cancellation forms, medical reports, private prescriptions, and some vaccination services. These take doctor and admin time away from caring for our patients and so we charge for these services. Our fees for these services, which are in line with BMA approved national guidelines, are as below.
Item | Cost |
Brief private letter (2 lines, without need to review notes ) | £18 |
Longer private letter | £30 |
Private sick note | £30 |
Counter signature | £16 |
Simple, brief report on a pro forma, no examination | £62 |
Written / detailed report without examination, eg. providing a detailed opinion or statement on the condition of the patient, pre insurance reports | £95 |
Medical examination and report in surgery (anything which requires an appointment to see patient) | £135 |
Driving medicals (HGV, taxi) | £130 |
Please note your GP is unable to certify that you are fit to fly or take part in activities such as sky diving, marathons, camps. If required we can provide a letter stating your current health condition for these activities which will cost £30.
Patients sometimes ask for letters stating their current medications. To prevent needing to pay for a letter for this you can use the right hand side of your repeat prescription which lists all of your repeat prescription medications. We can issue you a new copy of this if you do not have one. Similarly in many circumstances, such as requests for Blue Badges, clinic letters from your specialist which you should already have (we can print one for you if you do not) can be used avoiding the need for you to pay for us to write a separate letter for this purpose.
